A proposal that the heads of all sovereign states in the world gather for a week’s super-summit meeting to re-evaluate the prospects for peace opened by new technologies was made here this weekend by Abba Eban, Deputy Prime Minister of Israel.

He made that suggestion at one of the sessions of intellectual leaders from all over the world, considering ways to follow up on the principles enunciated by the late Pope John XXIII in the encyclical entitled “Pacem in Terris.” Mr. Eban received a standing ovation from the conference after being interrupted a number of times during his address with tumultous applause.

Today, Mr. Eban conferred with Belgium’s Prime Minister Paul-Henri Spaak, discussing various issues of mutual interest between Belgium and Israel, touching particularly on Israel’s relations with the European Economic Community. Accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister at this conference was Israel’s former Ambassador to Belgium, Gideon Rafael.
