Two-year-old Baby Dies of Cholera; First Fatality Since Cholera Outbreak in Gaza Strip

A two-year-old baby girl died of cholera on the way to the hospital in Gaza today. It was the first fatality attributed to the disease since cholera broke out in the Gaza Strip last month. The previous death of an infant suspected of having cholera was said to have been caused by pneumonia. Health authorities reported four more cholera cases in Gaza today. Five persons treated for the disease were released from the hospital fully recovered.
