A tough stand by the American delegate forestalled Arab attempts to introduce the Middle East conflict at the International Labor Organization conference currently in session here. The U.S. threatened to walk out if the Arabs raised the issue of Israel.

The matter was resolved after a long debate, to the satisfaction of the U.S. Pierre Blanchard, Secretary General of the ILO, announced, however, that he would visit Israel before the end of the year to investigate the condition of Arab workers in the occupied territories.
