In the first cultural exchange between Israel and Poland since most East European countries broke relations with Israel during the Six-Day War, the Israeli ballet company, Bat-Dor, will perform in three Polish cities.

The ballet troupe, which flew to Poland Sunday, will appear in Warsaw, Gdansk and Lodz. The Polish national dance company, Mazowsze, will reciprocate by performing in Israel in May. Two Polish theater companies have been performing in Tel Aviv in the past two months.

The cultural exchanges, according to Israeli officials, were the result of a meeting last September in the United Nations between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yitzhak Shamir and Foreign Minister Stefan Olszowski of Poland.
