Chancellor Helmut Kohl of West Germany said Wednesday that he would support a suggestion of the country’s Jewish community to include a declaration on Germany’s Nazi past in a preamble to a treaty on Germany’s reunification.
The chancellor’s spokesman, Hans Klein, said the declaration will underline united Germany’s responsibility for its Nazi past.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
