The United States again said the atmosphere at the Israeli-Palestinian talks in Washington are “excellent.” But U.S. State Department spokesman James Rubin said Thursday he did not believe that there would be any breakthroughs at the session, now in their second day. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak was quoted by CBS News as saying there is a “golden opportunity” to reach peace in the region, adding it is the leaders’ responsibility “if we fail.”
