Fervently Orthodox lawmakers in Israel blasted the justice minister for saying large families are not a “blessing,” but a burden on society. Yossi Beilin was quoted by the Israeli daily Ha’aretz as saying parents having as many as 15 to 17 children frequently do not have the money to take care of them.
