Israel demolished five homes under construction in an Arab village near Jerusalem, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz. Israeli officials said the construction activity was part of a Palestinian program to create “facts on the ground” near Jerusalem before Israeli-Palestinian negotiators resolve questions of land ownership.
