Israel is interested in renting an advanced Russian firefighting plane stationed outside Athens and capable of reaching Israel within two hours. According to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, the Ilyushin-76 plane is capable of carrying 42 tons of water, eight times more than the planes used in Israel for fighting fires.
