The largest Jewish women’s organization in the United States is applauding legislators’ efforts to enact a law that would forbid discrimination in health insurance or employment based on genetic factors. Leaders of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, said their support for the bill is prompted by findings that some Ashkenazi Jewish women may be genetically predisposed to breast and ovarian cancer.
