China protested Israel’s decision to cancel the sale of an advanced airborne radar system to Beijing after Israel came under heavy criticism from the United States. The Chinese Foreign Ministry was quoted as saying that no country has the right to interfere in the relations between two other countries. U.S. Secretary of Defense William Cohen got some of the criticism firsthand during a 90-minute meeting in Beijing with President Jiang Zemin.
