The Czech Ministry of Culture has nominated the former Jewish quarter in the town of Trebic for inclusion in UNESCO’s list of world culture and heritage. The state, the town hall and local property owners have invested $2.5 million in restoring the quarter, which was largely neglected during the country’s Communist era.
