Chase Manhattan bank will allow an outside investigator to audit its wartime records to see if the bank helped the Nazis, according to the World Jewish Congress. As a result of the move, the WJC said it would not try to block Chase’s planned $35 billion acquisition of investment banking firm J.P. Morgan & Co.
