A number of Hamas and Islamic Jihad activists have voluntarily returned to Palestinian jails because they fear being assassinated by Israel, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported. Palestinian militants have accused Israeli soldiers of assassinating leading Palestinian militants during the violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
