The United States condemned Holocaust-denial statements made by Iran’s spiritual leader. After Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told a conference in Tehran that Jews exaggerated the extent of the Holocaust to gain international sympathy, State Department spokesman Philip Reeker called the comments “outrageous and deplorable.”
