Unemployment in the West Bank and Gaza Strip nearly quadrupled since the start of the Palestinian uprising seven months ago, a Palestinian survey said. The survey showed unemployment hit 37.7 percent in the first four months of 2001, up from 10 percent when the violence began last September.
