The leader of Israel’s Labor Party promised that his party would support an economic austerity bill in the Knesset. Benjamin Ben-Eliezer informed Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Wednesday that Labor would back the bill, despite disagreement that emerged the previous day over cuts in child allowances.
