President Bush is advocating a new policy that would allow religious groups in the United States to receive federal aid for building social services centers. The proposal, being considered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, would increase federal funding to faith-based programs, an issue that many Jewish groups oppose for fear that it blurs the line between church and state.
