A leading Moscow politician will be the new chairman of the board of the Russian Jewish Congress. Vladimir Resin, the first deputy mayor of Moscow, was elected to the post Thursday. The new appointment will help the organization raise more funds, an RJC spokesman told JTA. Resin, considered one of Russia’s top political lobbyists, is a long-time friend and associate of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov.
