A Christmas tree controversy erupted at Indiana University. The dean of the university’s law school replaced a Christmas tree with two smaller trees and a sleigh after some students and professor Florence Roitman, a Jewish professor a I.U.’s law school, complained that the tree constituted a religious display. The dean says the new display represents Indiana woods and has no religious meaning.
