Soldiers and settlers scuffled as Israel dismantled an illegal settlement outpost in the West Bank. Monday’s razing of the single hut marking Havat Shaked, near Nablus, followed Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz’s undertaking this month to move against some 100 unauthorized outposts, as required by the “road map” peace plan.
