An American rabbi used the Israeli Embassy’s Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration to protest Israel’s arrest of a colleague. Rabbi Arthur Waskow of Philadelphia said Israel’s commemoration of the civil-rights leader’s birthday on Wednesday — the same day that the trial of Rabbi Arik Ascherman began in Israel — “stuck in my craw.”
