President Bush recently honored a World War II-era Jewish partisan as a “champion of freedom.” Alexander Bachnar, commander of a Jewish partisan unit in Slovakia during the war, was one of 21 people honored by Bush last week in Slovakia, the Jerusalem Post reported.
