The European Union reportedly is holding low-level contacts with Hamas. Ha’aretz reported Thursday that E.U. representatives had informed the United States of the change to a longstanding policy of officially shunning the Palestinian terrorist group. There was no immediate comment from Brussels, but Hamas confirmed that junior E.U. diplomats have met with its politicians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
