The “Quartet” of international peace mediators urged Israel to ease restrictions on Palestinian travel. Representatives of the United States, United Nations, European Union and Russia, on the sidelines of a G8 ministers’ meeting Thursday in London, called on Jerusalem “to take immediate steps, without endangering Israeli security,” to “facilitate rehabilitation and reconstruction by easing the flow of goods and people in and out of Gaza and the West Bank and between them.”
