Ariel Sharon begged Gaza Strip settlers not to scuffle with Israeli security forces who come to evict them. “I would like to appeal to everyone not to attack the police and soldiers and not to blame them or make things difficult for them,” the Israeli prime minister told reporters Wednesday as the army began forced removals of Gaza settlers. “Attack me. I am responsible for this. Attack me. Blame me,” he said.
