The 2008 budget request for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty would increase broadcasts to Iran while cutting them to Eastern Europe. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, based in Prague, now broadcasts in 20 countries and 28 languages, mostly reaching countries with Muslim-dominated audiences. Proposed reductions to the station’s administration and support still need approval from Congress.
