British opposition leader: Pressure Iran

The leader of Britain’s opposition Tory Party called for massive international pressure to stop Iran’s nuclear program. David Cameron, who arrived in Israel for a three-day visit Wednesday, told Ha’aretz on Thursday that he does not favor military action against Iran but would not rule it out. Polls show Cameron as the favorite to succeed Tony Blair as British prime minister. “I don’t want to see military action,” Cameron said. “I don’t think it is the right answer. But I don’t think that in international affairs, you should take things off the table, rule things out.” Cameron said the international community “should be putting the maximum amount of pressure on Iran to suspend uranium enrichment and to give up the desire for nuclear weapons.”
