Iran urged the Palestinian Authority to fight Israel to the end.
Iranian state television on Tuesday quoted President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as
saying that the Palestinian Authority under Hamas “should use its brave and
pious forces to continue resistance against the Zionist regime.”
The remarks
were made during a meeting between Ahmadinejad and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal, who is visiting Tehran. Meshaal said Iran’s
support for the Palestinian Authority is vital to offset a Western embargo on direct aid to the Palestinian Authority imposed after Hamas took power last year.
