A British university reportedly canceled a lecture on Islamic anti-Semitism, sparking accusations of censorship. The London Times reported that the University of Leeds told German political scientist Matthias Koentzel on his arrival Wednesday that his lecture, “Hitler s Legacy: Islamic Anti-Semitism in the Middle East,” had been canceled on “security grounds.” The Times reported that the school nixed the lecture following complaints from Muslim students. “I value the integrity of academic debate and I feel that it really is in danger here,” Koentzel told the Times. “This is a very important subject and if you cannot address it on university property, then what is a university for?” Koentzel is a research associate at the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
