A Holocaust memorial was vandalized in western Ukraine. The mass grave near the town of Lutsk was desecrated earlier this
month, the local Jewish community reported Thursday. The monument was established in 1990 on the site of a Nazi wartime
massacre of 25,000 Jews.
On March 18, local Jewish activists and representatives of a sister congregation from London visited the site and discovered that the fence along
the perimeter of the memorial had been damaged, and some remains of the
victims had been unearthed and scattered around the site. Police are investigating, but no progress has been
reported.
