The Anti-Defamation League posthumously honored a Tunisian farmer for rescuing Jews during the Holocaust. Khaled Abd al-Wahab was given the ADL Courage to Care Award, the group said in a release Monday. Al-Wahab was nominated in January for Yad Vashem’s “Righteous Among the Nations” designation, the first Arab to be so recognized. According to a survivor’s account, al-Wahab hid her and 24 relatives on his farm during the Nazi occupation. Al-Wahab’s daughter, Faiza, accepted the award during the ADL’s leadership conference in Washington.
