Doron Krakow has resigned from his position as senior vice president of the Israel and Overseas department of the United Jewish Communities, the national arm of local Jewish charitable federations. He is becoming the executive vice president and director of the American Associates of Ben Gurion University of the Negev, according to the UJC.
Krakow had spent four years at his post in New York, but his job status came into question when the UJC announced plans to restructure the organization, moving its Israel and overseas operation to a beefed up headquarters in Israel.
His resignation will take effect in mid-September, the UJC said in a leadership briefing.
“Doron has made a tremendous impact on UJC’s efforts in Israel and Jewish communities around the world,” Howard Rieger, UJC’s president and CEO, said in the briefing. “I know that both his colleagues and those who have benefited from Doron’s efforts recognize his dedication and support for the state of Israel and Jewish community worldwide.”
