Israeli forces kill gunmen in Gaza

Israeli forces raided the southern Gaza Strip, killing six Palestinians.

Ground forces backed by the air force carried out an incursion near Khan Younis early Tuesday in what military officials called a preventive action against a terrorist network.

The Israeli troops drew fire from local militiamen. Four Hamas gunmen and two bystanders were killed in an ensuing Israeli air strike, locals said. One Israeli soldier was wounded in the operation. Israeli forces detained some 80 suspected terrorists for questioning.
