The Jewish community in Kiev dedicated an education center.
The ceremony dedicating the five story structure took place Thursday and Friday in the presence of Ukrainian officials and delegations from Israel and Russia. Moshe Kantor, the president of the European Jewish Congress, attended.
The center is an extension of the main Kiev synagogue headed by Rabbi Yaakov Dov Bleich, a pioneer of post-communist Jewish revival in the Ukraine.
The building includes a yeshiva serving 25 students from Ukraine and other formerly Soviet countries, a Cheder serving 35 children, a dormitory, s dining hall, and kosher food and storage facilities.
