Israel relaxed security between Israel and the West Bank for the Muslim holiday of Eid il-Fitr.

Palestinian men over age 50, women over age 25 and children under 16 were permitted to cross into Israel to join family celebrations for the four-day holiday beginning Friday. Restrictions also were eased on Israeli travel into the West bank so Israeli Arabs could join celebrations there.

The festive feast holiday marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting.
