A Dresden hotelier was honored by a German-Israeli group for keeping neo-Nazis off his premises.

Johannes Lohmeyer was cited by the German-Israeli Society of Aachen for his “courageous acts against right-wing extremism.” Lohmeyer wrote an open letter telling two leading members of the far-right National Democratic Party of Germany that if they did not accept his cancellation of their online booking, he would donate all their fees to the Dresden synagogue.

Axel Holst, president of the Aachen German-Israeli Society, told the Tagesspiegel newspaper that he wanted to honor Lohmeyer for setting an example to others.
