The Shalom TV network is poised to go national.

Beginning Friday, Comcast will broadcast the Jewish-themed network to all of its service areas, as will Time Warner of New York and New Jersey, and Blue Ridge Communications.

The network, which debuted in 2006, features Jewish films – most in Hebrew with English subtitles – children’s shows, lectures and breaking news out of Israel. Jewish authors, poets, artists and celebrities also are featured, as are Israeli television series.

Shalom TV does not represent any specific Jewish movement or organization.

Rabbi Mark Golub, a successful entrepreneur in ethnic television, is the president and CEO of Shalom TV.
