Sderot academics speak of life under fire

Two Sderot academics told U.S. congressional staffers and university students about living with daily rocket fire.

Uri Bibi, a staff director, and Ruth Eitan, a professor of modern history, spoke on Capitol Hill and at George Washington University on Monday, in events sponsored by the Israeli Embassy and The Israel Project.

The academics described the psychological effects of the rocket fire, which often gets left out of media reports.

“They spoke of the emotional effects of being in school, at home, at an exam when a bomb goes off,” said Daniel Meron, the minister of congressional affairs at the embassy, who moderated the Hill discussion.
