A pregnant woman from Kiryat Malachi, in southern Israel, felt herself going into labor last week, so her husband put her in the car and took Highway 6 to Tel Hashomer hospital, outside Tel Aviv.

Heavy rain hindered their progress, however, and the husband had to pull over and deliver the baby. Highway 6 patrol officers later came to help.

According to Sunday’s Yediot Achronot, the Highway 6 operators announced that when the boy grows up, he will be allowed to use the highway for free.

Trips on Highway 6, also known as the Trans-Israel Highway, cost $3 to $7.
