The Iranian government said it will let Jews leave the country if they promise not to immigrate to Israel.

About 40 Iranian Jews have been stranded in Austria after receiving visas to immigrate to the United States, but U.S. authorities have delayed their entry.

When the Jewish Agency for Israel and Vienna Jewish community officials suggested they immigrate to Israel instead, the Iranian Jews refused, saying they promised Iranian officials they would not go to Israel, Ynet reported.
