Robert Aronson is resigning as CEO of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, according to the Detroit News.

Aronson, who informed the board of directors that he will resign within the year, has served as the head of the federation for 20 years, but his resignation doesn’t come as a total surprise.

Late last year, Aronson became the head of Michael Steinhardt’s Steinhardt Foundation for Jewish Life, and he has been working both jobs while splitting his time between New York and Detroit.

He informed the federation on Monday of his decision and will continue to act as a consultant for the organization.
