Technical Glitches Delay Labor Primary

Israel’s Labor Party canceled its primary after technical problems at the polls.

The primaries began Tuesday, but the vote was stopped by early afternoon due to problems with the new touch-screen voting system that caused 10 polling stations to open late. At first the vote was extended to midnight. Party officials announced later that the vote would be postponed to Thursday.

The problems come amid national polls showing that Labor could lose as many as half of its Knesset seats in February’s national elections.
