JERUSALEM (JTA) — A majority of Israelis are happy, according to a new survey.
In a survey on happiness, some 86 percent of Israelis said they were happy with their lives — 30 percent said very happy and 56 percent said happy.
For married respondents, 53 percent were very happy and 44 percent happy in their marriage.
The survey found that those with higher incomes tend to be happier, and that the happiness of married people does not increase as much by an increase in income as that of a single person.
Immigrants are more likely to be happy than native-born Israelis, the survey found, and that the more voluntary the aliyah the happier the immigrant.
The survey, conducted by the polling firm Dahaf on behalf of the Jerusalem Institute of Market Studies, questioned 1,006 adult Jewish Israelis.
