JERUSALEM (JTA) — Left-wing activists marked "42 years of occupation" during a march in Tel Aviv.
Saturday night’s protest march, marking 42 years since the Six-Day War in 1967, went from Rabin Square past the Tel Aviv Museum. Protesters carried signs reading "Stop the occupation, bring back democracy."
Israel Radio reported hundreds of marchers; Ynet reported thousands.
Organizations and political parties such as Hadash, Meretz and Gush Shalom put together the march.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, several dozen Israeli and American peace activists marched to the Israeli side of the Erez Crossing with Gaza asking officials to transfer the toys, food and medicine they brought to be given to the Palestinians.
The group then erected a small playground set.
