JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Palestinian Authority’s official news agency launched a Hebrew-language Web site.

The site will provide Hebrew-speaking readers with "accurate and first-hand information" from the PA, according to the agency, also known as WAFA.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas said in a letter posted on the site that the page would promote direct dialogue with Israelis as well as present the news objectively and accurately.

The Hebrew site will provide different content than the Arabic one, Ha’aretz reported, quoting Riyad al-Hassan, director general of the site.

News reported in Hebrew also will be translated into Arabic, according to reports.
