(JTA) — Bel Kaufman, the 99-year-old granddaughter of Yiddish author Sholom Aleichem will teach a course on Jewish humor.
Kaufman, author of the well-known novel "Up the Down Staircase," will teach the course "Six Weeks of Laughter" at Hunter College in New York beginning in March, the New York Post reported.
The course will focus on Kaufman’s grandfather, whose short stories were the inspiration for "Fiddler on the Roof."
The cost of the six-week course is $180.
