(JTA) — A new award will honor student reporting on anti-Semitism.
The Student Free Press Association and the Institute for Jewish & Community Research are sponsoring the Gary A. Tobin Media Awards.
The Tobin Award encourages students to expose and document anti-Semitism first hand, pushing the issue into the public forum through both formal and informal reporting.
Original student works will be evaluated by a panel of judges that includes veteran journalists and civil rights experts. Prizes of $1,000 will be awarded in the print journalism and new media categories. Entries must be submitted by April 1.
