Michael Ostroff was named the new chief development officer of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America. A 30-year fundraising veteran, Ostroff previously served in that same position for F*E*G*S Health and Human Services System in New York.
Rabbi Lisa Goldstein has been named the new executive director of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. Currently the executive director of Hillel of San Diego, where she has served for 15 years, Goldstein will assume her duties on July 5. She replaces Rabbi Rachel Cowan, who has led the institute for nearly eight years, and who will become its first Senior Fellow.
The Jewish Federation of Edmonton, Alberta, has named Russ Joseph as its new chief executive officer. Joseph, who has been serving as the federation’s temporary CEO since the beginning of the year, officially took the helm on May 1. He will also serve at CEO of the city’s Jewish Community Charitable Foundation and the executive director of the Jewish Community Center. Joseph is a longtime federation board member and past president.
David A.M. Wilensky has been named the next editor in chief and executive director of New Voices, the national Jewish student magazine, replacing Ben Sales, who is completing his two-year stint in the position. Wilensky is currently the publication’s web editor, is on the editorial board of Jewschool, and blogs about Jewish liturgy at The Reform Shuckle. He has just graduated from Drew University.
