Sad news, Muppet fans.
Billy Crystal just tweeted that he will be hosting the 84th Academy Awards. Crystal will be replacing Eddie Murphy, who stepped down from hosting the show after the original producer Brett Ratner resigned. Ratner made an offensive comment this week during a Q&A session following a screening of his new movie “Tower Heist.”
This will be the ninth time Crystal is hosting the Oscars.
